Berry Chia Smoothie

I’ve been having fun with making cold drink recipes lately, especially using TEA as the base.

Here are some benefits of using teas as your regular beverages:

  • Low calories
  • Rich in anti-oxidants
  • Powerful anti-inflammatories
  • Boosts our immune systems

In this recipe I used Wild Berry Zinger tea with hibiscus, rosehips and citrus flavours which are naturally sweet and give a great boost of energy in the morning.

Now let’s get into the recipe.

INGREDIENTS

(1 serving)

2 cups wild berry zinger tea

1/4 cup milk of choice

1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

2 tbsp monkfruit sweetener OR 1 tsp of honey

1/2 tbsp chia seeds

Frozen berries (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add 4 tea bags to 2 cups of boiling water and steep for 4 – 6 minutes. Remove to tea bags them allow to cool completely.
  2. Add brewed tea to a mason jar with all other ingredients and mix well
  3. Place in refrigerator for at least 2 hours then serve with frozen berries.
